Birthday present

My husband loves the ocean, fishing, surfing and lighthouses… I could not find a better design to stitch for his birthday this year than the adorable fisher gnome by Nimue.  Isn’t he cute?  And this frame from Walmart was a perfect match. :)

Private exchange

It’s been a long time since I’ve been here… But I am back with some news! J

Last year, Nina and I had an email chitchat and decided to have a private change between the two of us.  She sent me in December her exchange and was a darling to wait for mine few months.
I’ve stitched for her one of Shepherd’s Bush sampler’s  and finished in a box. Knowing that she loves fairies I’ve made a note book and added on the cover a freebie from Passione Ricamo. I’ve send her some extras too: finishing fabrics, linen, trimmings, silks, charts, charms, buttons, decorative pins, French Market Flea musical decorative set, shipping labels and stickers with her logo… The thank you email from Nina was wonderful. She is a special person and I am happy I’ve met her and we became friends thanks to blogging world.

(Most of these pictures are from Nina, I just did the editingJ)

Sampler au Bouquet

Hope everybody have a wonderful spring! Mine is not the happiest but I'm getting more positive as days go by. I am very close to share with you some finished pieces… you just have to be patient with me for couple of weeks. :)
Patty asked me to share the site from where I’ve got the last biscornu design. Click HERE to find it.

I signed up for the Sampler au bouquet by Jardin Prive SAL hosted on Au Plaisir De Croix blog. Just noticed that first deadline was March 25th. In my mind for some reason was April 1st… I will be paying more attention next time! :)

Here is my progress. I love, love, love this design and it’s a joy to stitch it.

Biscornu & Needleroll

Here I am, 5 weeks since my last post… I wish I had something to show you between then and now but I had nothing. :( It’s just that I still cannot get myself back in track and it’s not ok. I guess this is what really bugs me… cross stitching is my hobby and having days going by without a stitch take some joy you out of my life.

Today, after going on the USPS website to check if my packages got to destinations and reading that they were delivered I smiled and opened my files with pictures… because I have something to talk about! (Happy dance! :))

Last year I was part of 30 exchanges and I am proud that I sent out in time about 90% of them. I am really sorry that Gillian and Lisa had to wait longer for my last 2 pieces. And I am WIP with my private exchange for Nina. She was a darling to understand my personal problems that keep me away from stitching and finishing.

Months ago I’ve stitched this lovely design – a freebie from Barbi’s blog and I got to do the finishing last week. It is the last bisconu I’ve stitched as part of the monthly Please Pass the Biscornu Exchange. Unfortunately because the host left the exchange without any notice to us the participants, everything got very frustrating, especially when the exchange blog was deleted too… :(  We used our emails to communicate and keep the exchange going as much as possible. I have not received from everybody I’ve sent to but what is important for me is that nobody can say that about me as of today. At the end of the day I can say that I am very happy with my lovely collection of bisconus. :) Thank you ladies!

This bisconu went to Gillian:

Freebie @ Veronique A.
Fabric: 40 Newcastle linen hand dyed by Nina
Thread: Nina (Old Berry)

I cannot say that we have winter here in Vegas, at least not the traditional winter with snow and very cold days, so this lovely Shepherd’s Bush design was a delight to stitch for Lisa as part of our 2010 monthly exchange; the showmen and snowflakes, the colors… brought the winter into my home!

Snowfall needle roll @ Shepherd’s Bush
Fabric: 28ct Cashel Linen (Silkweaver Fabrics-dusty blue)
Thread: DMC as charted
Beads: MillHill

Take care and happy stitching,
Michelle
