HAPPY NEW YEAR! (picture heavy post)

Happy new year to all my followers and readers! Hope everybody started 2011 with a positive attitude. I’ve sure tried to do so…

I took a break from blogging because we had a very emotionally stressful end of the year. My dad had a second stroke and we almost lost him. A miracle happened and he’s still with us. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, had surgery and she started chemotherapy. Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts. As you can imagine I haven’t done too much stitching.

All I can show you is my exchange to Eniko as part of the SWAP 5 hosted by Nina. I’ve made for Eniko a sewing box and I hope she will find it useful.  I’ve filled the box with some goodies and send it out priority mail at the beginning of December. Well, they say that for priority takes 6 to 10 days… she just got it this week!

 Douce Nuit @ Tralala
Fabric: 32ct linen
Thread: Nina, TGA

Now I want to show the wonderful exchanges I’ve received last month! From Nina, as part of our private exchange this GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS box full of extras… scissors, tape measure, lace, charms, threads, fabric, a vintage thimble and more! :)
Many of  you have already seen these beautiful pictures but I’ve asked the OK from Nina to post them here too.

My exchange for her is not finished yet, am working on it and I will show you pictures as soon as she will receive it.

Nina, thank you again for everything! You know how much I will treasure this box!

From the talented Marcsi I received this lovely exchange as part of SWAP 5. So beautiful stitched and finished! And the goodies… adorable! Thank you, Marcsi!

Have a wonderful week-end!
Michelle

What wonderful stuff Michelle! Goodness! :) I am so very sorry for you and your family with what you have been going through. I know these times are scarey for all of you and I will definately keep you in my prayers! My mom was diagnosed 3 years ago with breat cancer and had her surgery pretty quickly . She had chemo and radiaiton both . Even though this is a scarey time, please keep in mind that they make strides DAILY in the fight against cancer and a possitive attitude goes a long way! I am putting your dad on my prayer list as well! Take care!

Hello Michelle -

I've seen your blog today for the first time - it's wonderful! The pieces you've stitched for others and the ones that have been stitched for you are beautiful. I am wondering whether you know how I can find the chart for the mistletoe gift sent to you by Marcsi. I clicked on her blog, but I have no idea what any of that means. If you know what it is, I hope can you pass it along. My email is kcarr@schwabe.com. Hope 2011 is a wonderful year for you and all those dear to you. Kate
