Blue and French

August was a good stitching month for me… I finished a lovely bag and I was part of a wonderful private exchange with a friend from Spain (she does not have a blog). She told me that her favorite color is blue so I tried to make my exchange as blue as possible. :)

For the exchange I bought a paper mache box from Joann and I covered it up with cotton fabric. The lid is painted with acrylic paint @ Martha Stewart. I made a scissor fob and a greeting card as well and I added few extras for my friend to use on her next projects.

The card I sent her was stitched too...

I love “Les brodeuses parisiennes”, their designs are wonderful. I was very happy to see this bag for sale on The French Needle website.  The finished bag was in the kit, I just did the stitching. I'll be using it to carry my stitching stuff when I go stitching at Stitcher's Paradise or my friends houses.

Lovely post Michelle. I love the box - so beautiful - the spider-web roses add so much dimension - I enjoy doing them myself. That's a great bag too - so chic looking. I'm a Francophile so anything like this I love. You can never go wrong with the Eiffel Tower! Congrats!
